Editing services we provide:

Substantive Editing
Substantive editing is where changes are presented to the author in the form of suggestions or guidelines.  It may include reorganizing paragraphs or chapters for the script to flow better or revising the text to improve the presentation.

Copy Editing
A copy editor is usually the first person to correct a work. Copy editing includes:

  • Correcting spelling errors, punctuation

  • Capitalisation

  • Grammatical errors

  • Checking fonts and format

  • Removing inappropriate jargon, colloquialisms and clichés

  • Checking page numbering, headers and footers

Proofreading

  • Proofreading can take two forms.  Either the proofreader will undertake a comparison proofreading where they will compare the newly typeset copy with the copy edited copy, or

  • Straight proofreading where they are proofreading copy that has been previously edited and/or copy edited.

Cost
Costs vary depending on the type and amount of work required and can be on the basis of per document or at an hourly rate.
